Invitation to attend InfoSecurity Professionals Networking
CyberSecurity Malaysia will organize an information security
networking forum & cocktail on the 8th. February 2010 (Monday). The
theme is "Shifting Cyber Landscape; Gearing towards Innovation'".
The main objective is to provide Information Security practitioners an
avenue to collaborate & sharing knowledge, enabling them to keep
abreast with the latest industry trends and development. It is also a
platform for strengthening the ability to protect information assets
from the ever-changing cyber threat vectors.
For participants with information security professional qualifications
from recognized bodies, CPE points will be awarded based on the terms
and conditions set forth by the respective certifying bodies.

About the speakers
1. Professor Fred Piper
Professor Fred has been a member of a number of DTI advisory groups.
He has also served on a number of Foresight Crime Prevention Panels
and task forces concerned with fraud control, security and privacy. He
is currently a member of the Scientific Council of the Smith
Institute, the Board of Trustees for Bletchley Park and the Board of
the Institute of Information Security professionals. He is also a
member of (ISC)2's European Advisory Board, the steering group of the
DTI's Cyber Security KTN, ISSA's advisory panel and the BCS's
Information Security Forum.
In 2002, he was awarded an IMA Gold Medal for "services to
mathematics" and received an honorary CISSP for "leadership in
Information Security". In 2003, Fred received an honorary CISM for
"globally recognized leadership" and "contribution to the Information
Security Profession".
Prof Fred Piper, BSc PhD (London) CEng CMath FIEE ARCS DIC FIMA was
appointed Professor of Mathematics at the University of London in 1975
and has worked in information security since 1979.
2. Dr. Gopi Kurup
Dr. Gopi Kurup is the Chief Technology Officer of Extol MSC. His
current research interest is primarily in designing and developing
innovative security solutions based on Artificial Intelligence and
Encryption technologies. He has filed several patents, published
conference papers, presented at various international events and
contributed to the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the
worldwide organization for Internet standardization. He has been
appointed to the International Islamic University Computer Science
Department Board of Studies and co-supervises PhD an MSc. students.
Dr. Kurup received his BEng. (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics
Engineering and MSc. in Microwaves and Optoelectronics from University
College London in 1994 and 1998 respectively. He received his PhD.
from Monash University, Melbourne in 2007.
